Rim Fragment with classic 'de Savaan Style' painted decoration

The dotted painting design on this rim is specific for Curacao and Bonaire and does not present itself on ceramics from Aruba. The fragment was discovered during excavations in 1972 at Sta. Barbara (C-036), Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles. The sherd is similar to the ones found in the neighborhood of the Savaan (Dabajuroid series). This particular sherd was excavated by E. Juliana and E. Boerstra in 1971.
