French Cabinet

The mahogany pillared cabinet has four doors at the front, all of which having been cut from the same piece of wood. Each door has a locally crafted silver escutcheon (bok’i yabi), representing a leaf with part of the stem and surmounted by a dove. The pillars are freestanding and diagonally placed at the corners. They have a twisted turning and ornaments with bulbous, faceted carvings. The legs of the wardrobe are urn-shaped. On each side there is an extra door covering the entire height, also with a silver escutcheon. The cabinet was presented to the foundation by the family of Abraham Ephraim (Brim) Maduro.
